Rustic Pine Furniture
What would be a good, crafty, fun idea for my pine tree slash pile?
I am limbing my blue spruce and pine trees, and I have a lot of branches. The decor of my house is very rustic - lots of twig and logs and such. I'd love to seal these branches/sticks with Shellac and use them to make fun things for my house - furniture, decor, toys for the kids, ANYTHING! What do you recommend?
P.S. I'm no carpenter!!
You could take some heavy guage floral wire and tie some of the branch bases together, with ends facing two separate ways, then tie a pretty ribbon bow around the middle. This would make a great wall hanging, and you could add other features, like dried flowers, to fancy it up a bit, or make seasonal wreaths for your front door or something. Wood gets pretty bendy if you soak live twigs in water for awhile, so that might help.
You could also make coasters, like on Martha Stewart's Website (see Source below).
